Repair and repointing of traditional rubble-stone elevations.

The exposed stonework gives this traditional house much of its character, but areas of failing mortar and loose masonry required attention. Defective joints were carefully raked out, localised repairs were made where needed, and the elevations were repointed with a finish suited to the varied shapes and natural tones of the stone.

The work also required careful detailing around the substantial limestone quoins, brick window surrounds and arched entrance. The renewed pointing provides greater protection from the weather while bringing definition back to the masonry.
