Reinstatement of a historic stone boundary wall using traditional lime mortar.

A section of the boundary wall at this 200-year-old graveyard had partially collapsed, leaving the remaining masonry loose and vulnerable to further loss. The failed section was carefully reinstated, resetting the irregular limestone to follow the established line, coursing and character of the surviving wall.

Traditional lime mortar was used to bed and point the masonry, providing a compatible, breathable repair suited to the historic fabric. The wall was finished with its distinctive stone-on-edge coping, restoring a familiar feature of the graveyard while ensuring that the new work sits naturally alongside two centuries of weathered stone.
